The computer virus is a piece of self-executable program or code that is loaded into the computer without user’s knowledge and works against to user’s wishes. An interesting thing is that all the virus are man-made. Some viruses are created by mistakes and some are intentionally. The behavior of the virus is different from each other. Few viruses are curable and few are not curable. Some viruses will make very serious issues in computer and networks as well.

• Files would be deleted without user’s knowledge

• Files would be encrypted
• Important data would be steeled from the computer like passwords
• Booting files / drivers / applications would be corrupted / deleted which may cause system crash

• When connecting infected system to other system, viruses will be passed through network.
• While downloading files / applications from untrusted websites.
• Through USB or any storage media

How it can be avoided?

• Keep firewall ON
• Install the antivirus program and keep it up to date
• Do periodic virus scanning ( Full scanning is recommended )
• Do not download and install any untrusted programs
• Enable removable device scanning settings in Anti-virus program
• Do not open / copy any files before scanning of any storage medias
